Secondary Music - Reflecting
Module 7 | Contents |
Critical reflection on curriculum development activities will help you establish the benefits, or otherwise, of the activity and inform your future practice. Reflecting on practice is an important aspect of any teachers' work (see Stenhouse 1975 ) and we have covered this topic in greater detail in Module 6 of the Core Materials. Teachers will want to reflect on two aspects:
Teacher's own learning about and with ICT
Once you have completed this course, you should have:
Pupils' learning about and with ICT
You could take each activity you have covered and identify the learning outcomes:
Task 6
- Write up your reflections on integrating ICT into the music curriculum.
You should keep these reflections in your portfolio and also aim to publish them on your web page. You will also have the opportunity to engage in an on-line meeting with others in order to share your reflections.
- Review your rationale for integrating ICT into learning and teaching.
You should look back at the rationale you wrote at the beginning of the course and review this based on the work you have done during the course.
- Make a list of your future professional development needs which will enable you to continue to develop ICT in your classroom.
- You should identify the skills, knowledge and understanding you feel you still need in order to continue with your current level of development. You may find it helpful to check what you think you have achieved against the TTA Expected Outcomes for teachers on http://www.canteach.gov.uk/community/ict/nof/nof.htm.
